1X describes NEO as a consumer-ready humanoid robot designed to help with chores and personalized assistance at home.

For a humanoid entering the home, convenience is only part of the decision. Families also need to know who can see, guide, update, and control the robot inside private spaces.

1X describes NEO as a consumer-ready humanoid robot designed to transform life at home by automating everyday chores and providing personalized assistance. The company says NEO is available to order and that deliveries will begin primarily in the U.S. in 2026, with other markets starting in 2027.

The important catch is remote assistance. 1X says NEO arrives with basic autonomy and can grow in capability over time. For complex tasks the robot does not yet know, a 1X expert can remotely supervise its actions at scheduled times to help it learn new abilities and complete the job.

The home angle is direct. Remote supervision may make early home humanoids more useful, but it also raises questions about privacy, consent, data, camera access, household routines, and how comfortable families will be with human-assisted robotics.

The takeaway for Humanoid Home News readers: NEO may be one of the clearest examples of a humanoid aimed at real homes, but its success will depend on whether families accept the tradeoff between early usefulness and supervised access inside private spaces.
