For a humanoid entering the home, manufacturing scale matters. A promising robot cannot become a household product unless the company can build it reliably, test it aggressively, and support customers after delivery.

1X says its NEO Factory in Hayward, California has begun full-scale production of NEO home robots. The company describes the 58,000-square-foot facility as America’s first vertically integrated high-volume humanoid robot factory, with more than 200 team members.

The factory gives 1X the capacity to build 10,000 NEOs per year, with plans to reach more than 100,000 annually by the end of 2027. 1X says robots coming off the line are being shipped to its R&D lab and internal home testing, with first customer shipments planned for 2026.

The home angle is direct. NEO is designed as a general-purpose home robot, and 1X says American consumers will be among the first to receive it. The company lists Early Access pricing at $20,000 and a subscription model at $499 per month.

The takeaway for Humanoid Home News readers: 1X is not just showing a home humanoid concept. It is building the factory infrastructure needed to turn NEO into a real consumer product, while still proving whether the robot is ready for daily life inside homes.
