Kawasaki Heavy Industries has completed a four-legged Home LEO prototype aimed at helping older adults remain in their own homes. The company announced it on October 6 and is targeting a fiscal 2028 launch after demonstration trials.
The proposed role combines conversation, everyday assistance and coordination with caregivers. Kawasaki describes a robot that could locate and hand over items, notice possible problems around the home and share care information with permission.
Those are development goals. The announcement explicitly includes features planned for future implementation; it does not establish how reliably the robot performs them in occupied homes.
That distinction matters when a device is expected to recognize a fall or handle personal information. Pricing and U.S. availability are not specified in the release.
Humanoid Home News Takeaway: Home LEO brings another established robot maker into home assistance. The next useful evidence will come from the trials: what it can do consistently, when a person must step in and how residents control their data.
