Humanoid Home News: humanoid robots helping humans in the home

LG just put a date on the robot that will live in your home. And it is not coming soon.

On 28 October 2026, LG Electronics said it plans to enter the home humanoid market around 2030. A humanoid is a robot shaped like a person, built to walk, reach, and work in a home.

Factories come first. LG will build its robotics business in factories, warehouses, and institutions first, where robots can learn safely, working with NVIDIA on physical AI. Its robot training factory in Seoul, the LG Data Factory, goes to full-scale operation in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The training goal is huge: a cumulative 500,000 hours of robot training data by the end of 2026, raised fivefold from an earlier 100,000-hour target. That is real and virtual practice, teaching robots how to move, grip, and handle things without breaking them.

Here is the twist, explained simply. LG says the key factor will be pricing that a normal family can realistically afford. A robot only rich homes can buy is not a home robot at all. And a bipedal, walking humanoid developed with NVIDIA is reported to be targeted for unveiling in the first quarter of next year — years before home humanoids are planned to reach homes around 2030.

So the robot home is coming, just not tomorrow. Factories first, training now, your home around 2030.

Can children learn to program a humanoid robot without starting with lines of code? Tina Nemat explains how FF Nova is intended to introduce families to robotics, artificial intelligence and hands-on coding.

We discuss Brain Blocks, FFR’s programming platform, including drag-and-drop movement sequences and a chatbot that Tina says can help translate an idea into robot code. She also explains the basic skills package, optional Skills Store purchases and the company’s vision for users to create and share their own robot skills.

For parents considering a robot with cameras and sensors, Dan asks about privacy, data handling and optional data sharing.

Topics covered:

- FF Nova’s intended role in family learning and STEM education
- Block-based programming and natural-language “vibe coding”
- Turning movement ideas into robot behavior with Brain Blocks
- Included skills, optional purchases and custom skill development
- Creating a portfolio of robotics projects
- Questions parents should ask about cameras, sensors and data privacy
Product capabilities and privacy statements reflect the company representative’s explanations at the time of recording, rather than an independent product or security test.
